About The Family Institute
Counseling@Northwestern is delivered through The Family Institute (TFI), a nonprofit affiliate of Northwestern University that provides community mental health services and offers academic programs through a partnership with The Graduate School.
TFI was founded in 1968 with the belief that family is the most significant factor influencing human identity and that families should have access to mental health services no matter what their financial resources. Every year, thousands of men, women, and children seek TFI’s services to receive the help they need regardless of income or access to insurance.
As a student of Counseling@Northwestern and The Family Institute, you will help further TFI’s mission as you develop the knowledge and skills to serve people in need while advancing the counseling profession.
