The accelerated track cost for the 2021-22 academic year is $20,020 per quarter. Accelerated full-time students in the Standard and Bridge Programs will pay the full cost each quarter, with an estimated total tuition of $120,120 for Standard Program students and $140,140 for Bridge Program students.
The traditional and part time cost for the 2021-22 academic year is $5,005 per credit, with an estimated total tuition of $120,120 for Standard Program students and $135,135 for Bridge Program students.

Cost of living allowances are based on estimates and represent the maximum values for determining your cost of attendance. Your cost of attendance includes the cost of tuition plus an additional estimated cost of living allowance (approximately $7,500 per quarter) for other expenses (books, rent, food, transportation, etc.). Your actual expenses may vary.

** All students must maintain health insurance that meets the University’s standards. You will have the opportunity to waive the NU Student Health Plan via CAESAR if you have other comparable coverage. Students enrolled in the fall quarter will be billed for the annual premium amount ($4,386) in the fall quarter (for coverage from September 1 through August 31). Students admitted in subsequent quarters will be charged a pro-rated premium amount based on the number of quarters of coverage remaining.
The Graduate School covers 65 percent of the cost of the NU Student Health Plan for Counseling@Northwestern students enrolled full time (3-4 credits). Students enrolled less than full time are responsible for the entire cost of the NU Student Health Plan.
US citizens and permanent residents have multiple options for financial aid, including federal loans, grants, and program scholarships. We encourage applicants to apply for financial aid at the same time they submit their application to Northwestern.

Counseling@Northwestern students are required to attend two in-person immersions during their time in the program. The immersions are held in Evanston, Illinois, and are required in order to complete the program. There are some additional out-of-pocket costs not covered by financial aid associated with these immersions, including travel to Evanston.
