Core Faculty, Clinical Training Director

Emily Chew serves as core faculty in the Counseling@Northwestern master’s program at the Family Institute at Northwestern University where she serves on the clinical training director team. Emily earned a doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from Governors State University and a master’s in Counseling Psychology from Lewis University. Emily has served the counseling community as a board member of the Central Valley Counselors Association and as secretary for the Virginia Association for Counselor Education and Supervision. Her research interests are rooted counselor education pedagogy and andragogy and suicide mortality in Lithuania. She is a licensed professional counselor in Virginia and a licensed clinical professional counselor in Illinois. Her clinical work began with survivors of domestic and sexual violence at a community counseling center in Illinois, transitioned into directing a university counseling center, and supervised counselors-in-training at a free clinic in Virginia.
